THE NORTH-WEST WALES 16mm MODEL RAILWAY GROUP
A GROUP WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF 16mm NARROW GAUGE MODELLERS
As we are not meeting because of Covid 19, Isobel Watson has issued an invitation to Members to enter a model making competition:
This will be for anything loosely related to railways and any size or scale, buildings, wagons, coaches, engines, etc.
It will be for any models or items started during the lockdown i.e. since March 23rd, or thereabouts.
It could be a kit, or an adaptation or one, or scratch built, and any materials.
Judging will be held at the Aber Road Light Railway with teas, biscuits and cake, but not a full meal.
There will be a prize ... not sure what yet!
Bring the model along, or photos / video if it’s in-situ or just too big. Anyone unable to come along could send photos through for the judging.
To choose a winner, we will all ‘mark’ the exhibits, and Isobel will provide pencil and paper. It may be possible to arrange some sort of remote judging if some folk are unable to come along … but not sure what or how yet. All items will be scored from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest score for each model. All scores will be added up and a prize given.
The date of judging will be announced after ‘lockdown’ has ended. Some of us are in the vulnerable section, so it may be quite a while after ... so that means you have a longer time to make your models in.
Below, several Members have projects on the go at the present time and which may be seen in the pages.
It seems likely that some of these may be possible entries to Isobel's competition!
